He's still on the air because enough ppl aggree with what he says and enjoy his show.  It's the same reason American Idol is still on, if no one wanted to watch the show would be canceled, simple as that.

Your real question should be why a freak show like Keith Olbermanns is on the air considering that his target audience are imbeciles.

1) This is America and he has a right to speak his mind

2) He very vocally states he is a registered Independent voter with a right to his opinion

3) He isn't a news reporter he is a commentator that clearly states his view on what he is comment on

If you don't like him or what he says - Uphold your right to choice and change channels.

I personally don't see the appeal behind Howard Stern - so I don't listen to him..... But I don't tell the rest of the country they can't .
