Why the h**l is russia ''at war'' georgia?

A region in north Georgia, called South Ossetia, wants to secede from Georgia and form a union with North Ossetia, which is inside the Russian Federation  Russia's support for South Ossetia, and it's military strikes on Georgia are a retaliatory act because Georgia seceded from the Russian Federation and voted for an independent nation in 1991 Russia fought a long and bloody war to retain sovereignty, and does not forgive losses easily. There is little political, economic or strategic advantage for Russia to support the secession, except hostile vengeance against Georgia.

Basically a province of Georgia wanted quits Georgians said "No way!" Russians gave the guys that wanted quits citizenship Georgians attacked so Russia was like "WTF!? Why you attack our citizens!?"

O)k.....Russia want back controll of the S.O. provance from to as they put it "protect their foreign nationals from georgia and the Russians sent troops and now a full blowin military offensive miss treatment"but that is total bull so a provance wants independace from georgia does that give us the right to go and invade any part of any country that wants independance? Russia is way out of line and I am gettin mad about the lack of responce from NATO,US and the EU....

It is Georgia is at war with Russia. Georgia started war. And Russia rescues peace inhabitants of Ossetia, but not in коем a case does not kill peace inhabitants in Georgia. By what h**l Georgia it does!!!???

For the same reason that USA has invaded Iraq, oil and its control. Georgia is fallowing USA  interests and Russia government does not agree with this fact. Population of South of Georgia want their independence from Georgia and Russia is helping them with military forces. This land of Georgia is very rich in oil reserves. USA is not going to help Georgia, they are alone. Also Georgia want to belong to the OTAN, organization that is against Russia interests, creating this confllict Georgia can not belong to the OTAN because their territory are in belic conflicts.

Georgia attacked the separatist province of South Ossetia. Russia came to the defense of the ossetians. Kinda like the US helped Kuwait against Iraq.

The georgians never saw it coming. They gambled and lost.
