  1. because their just not a good team

  2. partly because they didn't take London ( I still have trouble calling them Harlequins..) seriously...they are much stronger this season and will be a force to be reckoned with.

  3. Jamie Lyon is a traitor who sold out Parramatta ! Ok, thats one school of thought ! The other is that being an open-sprited Aboriginal the boy had no discipline ! Even though he was one of the best Centres in the World he had no fortitude ! So how is the lad going in England ? I know it's like playing our Premier League ! Just a hint Aboriginals are quite often one-hit-wonders !

  4. They didn't react to the snow as well as Harlequins.

  5. Don't write them off Harlequins seem to be saints bogey team at Knowsley Road, they always put in a good performance so no surprise there. Its the firt game only though.

  6. i would not be to worried ,they have a big game in 2 weeks ,maybe their minds were on that,as for missing jamie lyon i hope so.............

  7. Its a case of after the lord mayors parade. Saints haven't become a bad team over night but I don't think they will be the force they were last season. Jamie Lyon was a massive part of the teams success in last years super league, and losing him is a huge blow, especially when Sculthorpe is out and (imho) Cunningham is way too far past his sell by date!

And where did all that shpiel about Lyon being an Aborigional?! He is an Aussie...not a native one, he is the latest in a family line that goes back to british and irish convicts being deported and setting up there. He has a family, he wants to go home, fair play to him.

St Helens are a one man team this season, and that one man is Long. Unfortunately for saints he isn't the shining star of old and I think he has lost his edge. There isn't one team in Super League that hasn't recruited well this season. Every team are stronger, faster and bulkier. I think by about round 7 or 8 we will have a better idea of who will be there and there abouts come the business end of the season, and I'm not in any doubt that Sts will be amongst the top 6....as usual.
