Why the lakers will never win a title again for a while (20 years)?

kobe can't do nothing no more and his excuse for not exploding now is "teamwork", theres team work and then theres explosion to give urself a better chance, he hardly did any againist boston. 2, lebron is the best player in the world and is making the playoff 08-09 season and he has already proved that the "lakers" got nothing on the cavaliers. Lebron could have beated the boston, he was 20 seconds off, while the lakers got killed 40 points. the pistons are horrible, their going to be a whole new differnt team the next season and boston wont even make it past the east semis. the sixers are horrible with elton brand also, so my question is, whos going to stop.......... lebron james and the CAVAliers???

Well I am not at all a Lakers fan and I do think that LeBron is better than Kobe. I think that the Lakers are really soft and need to do something about Pau Gasol to make him tougher.  They just need to trade Lamar Odom and pray that Andrew Bynum comes back on the same pace he left because they need strength desperately.  However even if none of this is addressed, though I hate to admit it, the Lakers are still one of the elite teams in the NBA right now so I highly doubt they will go 20 years without an NBA title. Kobe Bryant is not overrated despite what some people may think and he did deserve the MVP (though Chris Paul deserved it more) and I know he will retire with 4 or 5, maybe even 6 rings. Lakers will be champions atleast once in the next five years (I wish it werent true....) GO HORNETS!! CP3 4 MVP 08-09

That's a very bold statement...20 years is a long time! Kobe is better than LeBron at this stage of their game. Who on the Cavs matches up with the proposed Laker front court of Gasol, Bynum and Odom? LeBron is good, but no one man can win a championship!

no one can stop the lakers offence because of their teamwork last year, and ur talkin about their loss to boston, well they just dont match up with boston coz defense>offense..

I didn't bother to read you rant let me tell you why the Lakers have the best chance out of any! team to win a championship over the next 5, 10, 15 even 20 years as you so call it. Over the next 5 years the Lakers will have 4 all-star caliber players in their prime Kobe, Pau, Lamar, and eventually Bynum that alone makes the lakers the more dominant team even more so than the aging celtics and young hornets. From 10-20 this is all i have to say to you in the 60 year history of the Lakers they've made the playoffs 55 of the 60 years. Have made the finals countless times and won 7 titles since then, as a fan i have nothing to worry about you are just a typical hater because most likely your team sucks and THEY! won't win a championship in 20 years. What's even funny is how ignorant some people like you are. No great player can win a championship on his own, they always needed help and without that help they never would have won a tittle... lebron is no different.

Granted, the Cavs are good. They do have the top 2 or 3 player in the league. But I think you are greatly undervaluing the Celtics and Sixers. And overvaluing Cleveland.

Aside from, Lebron.. the 'Lebrons... are not that great of a team. Wallace is getting older. I think Hickson will be a good talent but not right now. Still no real point or threat to get to the basket outside of 23. Again, they're good but not at the level you have em.

In the short term.  Kobe is stopping them lol.  Maybe in 2 years when he is actually comfortable leading a team and invovling his teammates they will win.  But after Kobe leaves this team I can't see functioning.  You have to assume that Phil is out when Kobe retires.

So looking at this roster that way.  (Fisher will be gone too)  They will have no PG, or SG unless they make some moves.  They're kinda bound with Gasol and Bynum possibly for the next 7-8 years.  But with noone able to feed the post effectively those two aren't that good.
