  1. legend has it that a greedy fellow stole a magical palayok.  he then took this palayok on a ship and it started churning out salt which he could not stop.  the ship sunk and the palayok to this day still produces salt.


  2. Water of most of the rivers fall into the seas. Rivers carry water soluble salts to the seas. Water of seas evaporates and water vapours rises up. Leaving salts in the sea. So the concentration of the salts has slowly becomes more and more. Sea water contains about 2.7% sea salt (sodium chloride / common salt) besides some other salts in small quantity. This small quantity of sodium chloride in sea water is salty.
