Here is the problem with todays storylines:

It lasts only 2-3 weeks. There isint much action in it so we can think it as interesting. Like Edge vs Batista. After the PPV its all over.

The PPV back in the days were good because they had like 6 PPV a year. It had enough time to develop. there was so much action. We had to think it would be a great match at the PPV.

Why does Mr. Mchman do this?

Its all about the money.

More PPV= more money

Agree or Diasagree? Why?

  1. KINDA

  2. kinda ??????????????

  3. Why not just have wrestling and drop the story lines?

  4. that's why i like the UFC. no story lines and real fighting :)

    much love

  5. That is exactly the reason storylines suck, and you get a star straight away for that my friend.

What the WWE lacks these days is feuds that are going to be memorable in the future. Back in the 90's and 80's, there were 4-6 PPV's every year. The build up to feuds were excellent, and the matches were anticipated, obviously giving a boost to PPV buy rates.

These days it seems as if the WWE want to build up a feud between two great superstars, for example Edge and Triple H, for 3 weeks, and then BANG, the match happens and that's the last of it. What the WWE needs to do is limit their PPV's. Throwing out a maximum of 8 PPV's each year would benefit a lot of the storylines and even ratings. A feud like Batista and Cena, and I'm not a big fan of either, but a feud between two guys that seemingly are the faces of the business shouldn't have 3 weeks of a build up. Batista himself has said that the build up is weak and I agree. These two should have had a slow, steady build up so that their match at SummerSlam will have anticipation behind it, but the WWE went wrong there.

I think Vince is all about the money right now, hence why the WWE is now catering for all sorts of audiences, as opposed to the Attitude Era where it was catered towards adults. Vince wants money, and if that means making Cena champion for another year for a huge profit, upsetting older fans along the way, then that is what will happen.

    Sad, but true.

  6. Some of them are pretty bad...Example the Jericho and Michaels feud...I never really got drawn into that one. Although the Edge and Undertaker feud has been pretty interesting although there were some stale parts.

  7. the storylines in the attitude era were awesome. the ones nowadays are g*y. i mean they do the same thing over and over nowadays. in the attitude era, they did different things, not the same thing every time.

  8. cause there's not enough hype on certain matches..

  9. Its wrestling for goodness sake....its never been a smart form of entertainment..... it doesnt have to be good because that would confuse all the rednecks who love it.

  10. agree

  11. I 100% agree with you. Just like Mr.McMahon says It is all about the money. The WWE just wants more money. And just look at how they are releasing people these days. All they want is the money. =]

  12. Agreed with you 100%. If they want more people to watch wwe, they need to bring back more backstage segments, another problem is the PPVs, Every brand needs their ppvs back like Smackdown gets No Mercy Great American Bash while Raw gets Unforgiven and all the old ppvs, A lot of people dont even get to wrestle and PPVs, the only ppvs that the brands are on should be Summerslam, Survivor Series, Rumble and Mania

  13. BACK THEN IN "98-2005" WAS WAYYY BETTER BUT NOW NOT SO INTERESTING STORYS...

  14. The storylines doesn't really suck i like their storylines and their ppv.The only thing i don't like is that many wrestlers always miss ppv and push the same wrestlers. The title isn't always online. And yes wwe wants more money.

  15. That's why I like TNA.

At least in my opinion, SonJay Dutt and Black Michismo and SoCal Val, their tringle relationship storyline is waaaaayyy better than Edge and Vickie's troubled relationship storyline.

  16. I actually think the storylines are getting much better since the draft.  And who's to say WWE can't or won't build off of the ppv's thenselves for future ppv's?  I expect Cena vs Tista to not have a definite winner for a long while and build to Mania.  I like your points though.  Amd of course the money is what matters.  They are a BUSINESS.  They are SUPPOSED to sell their product to as many people as posssible.

  17. I agree

    AWESOME QUESTION I NEVER REALIZED

  18. sooooooo true....but i think for Batista V Cena there using at as way to strengthen the feud with Tista eventually turning heel...and then them going into WM25  with equal wins against each other...or something like that
