have you ever wonder why UFOs were most often seen in the shape of saucer? maybe if we want to travel in hyperspeed we have to use saucer shaped ship? this is an odd question I know, but I just wondering.... :)

  1. A while ago, I had been studying the shape of the craft as well.

Look into TT. Brown's work. He made capacitors into this shape which he then charged with millions of volts. Something to do with efficiency.

The shape of the craft has to do with charge build up. Capacitance. When a force field is generated it adhere's to this profile with greater efficiency. Nothing to do with aerodynamics, since this is about travelling through the vacuum of space. It doesn't matter what shape you have outside of efficiency and if you travel through the cosmos, since it is the force field which is protecting you and also propulsing you across interstellar space.

I think the saucer type was probably one of the first types of actual space craft designed aeons ago. Designed for efficiency. Then afterwards, all sorts of sizes and shaped were created, since the power source could overcome the need for efficiency.

    Look into it!

  2. Nice try, Lorenzo. On the contrary, the term flying saucer was coined in 1947 from comments made by pilot Kenneth Arnold. You obviously didn't know that Roswell occurred that year also. Maybe it was a crashed prototype frisbee?

  3. Only a very very small fraction of all reported UFOs has the shape of a saucer. And these are usually, by honest reports, very similar to lenticular clouds.

But the majority of all UFOs either have no shape at all (just lights or unknown shapes) or looks like a cigar.

And finally: Only very few reported UFOs have ever been made for space travel. A UFO is only a unidentified flying object - which means, nobody at the point it was seen was able to say what it is. A UFO is not automatically a spacecraft.

The most typical UFO is identified as the chinese lantern. You will be surprised how many people are not able to recognize this as human toy, when you see it late at night and from some distance. Show hundred people a blurred image of a helicopter, and they will draw you one hundred times a different UFO. When you are lucky, one person will draw a helicopter and say "This is a trick question, right?"

  4. Aerodynamics. the flatter the object, the faster it can cut through space with minimal interruptions

  5. Its a good design for a deep space spacecraft.  The occupants are most likely from some planet where they are used to having gravity.  If it is saucer shaped, it can spin, causing centrifugal force, also known as artificial gravity, turning all the outside walls into floors that you can stand on.  That way they can travel from their home planet for generations, so their great-great-great (and so-on) grand-alien-children that have lived in the saucer all their lives, can visit earth, assuming they can build a machine that can work after thousands (or more) years of traveling through space.

  6. you could be on to something

  7. The first UFO's were seen in 1955 - the SAME year that a company called Whammo came out with a product known as the Frisbee. It was originally a pie tin.

    I guess they were homesick.
