If the proportion of fine aggregate increases in relation to the proportion of coarse aggregate, and the quantity of water remains the same, the workability is either increase or reduce. Why? And If increase the amount of cement in relation to the aggregate and maintain the same amount of water, what will happen to the workability?

  1. If enough fine aggregate is added the tendency of the coarse aggregate to immediately physically lock into

place is reduced, so workability is somewhat increased.

Changing the cement / water ratio affects the cure.

The mix will harden faster and attain less strength.
