Why the world has serious disasters here 2008?

theres something happening at the world like earthquake in california,typhoons in philipines.Why?What caused this disasters i watched tv partol. im a filipino ok?im only 10.Rumors said that Jesus will come down to earth and take those who love him.thats all. God bless hope you all survive some disasters.

Natural disasters are all around us...this year may be a little bit more by coincidence only.....nothing new is going on here then ever before....

When you get to 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and so on, you should notice that the world, in each of those years, has plenty of serious disasters to be reported on tv.  The world has entertained human populations with serious disasters ever since humans first appeared; floods, famines, epidemics, volcanoes, earthquakes, wars...  These things are nothing new.

There are  a couple of relatively recent novelties in play.  Firstly, the human population has massively increased over the last few centuries, and that means there are more of us to be injured and killed off.  Secondly, the development of television, satellites and the internet mean the news of such events spreads much more rapidly and thoroughly.  For example, when Mount Vesuvius blew its top in 79AD, killing probably over 10,000 people and eradicating the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum, most the rest of the world's population noticed nothing whatsoever.  They didn't have CNN or the BBC World Service.
