  1. we have walkabout in london

  2. because their food tastes like **** and makes us sick!

  3. There are,  for example Outback Restaurant/Grill (they hire Aussie staff too.)  &

->Australian restaurateur Luke Mangan opened his first US restaurant, South Food and Wine Bar, on October 1, showcasing Australian cuisine and wine to an international market. ('Food magazine' article)

True "Australian" food cafe/restaurants i.e. bush tucker are still very rare in Australia. The best known being Red Ochre Grill who operate pre-dominantly in north queensland. I have eaten at the Cairns CBD restaurant & enjoyed a very nice meal sampling  things like crocodile wontons & emu pate.

While I was working out at Longreach, qld we were in the process of establishing a Bush-tucker menu, unfortunately we a New head chef came in & we became Italian :)

  4. Because the rest of the world just isnt sophisticated enough to truly appreciate Australian Cuisine.

(Some of the above answers are incredibly ignorant)

  5. Australia is a multicultural society.

So the food signatures arnt as strong..

    Pavlova,, bacon..

Lol, thats all the aussie foods I know, and I live there!

See, but even pavlova is greek or something?

Meat paddies. Scrambled eggs. Like all american and influenced by other cutures..

  6. Go the Aussies, apart from when we play you for The Bledisloe.

    Regards NZ

  7. It wouldnt make a difference anyway.. Its hard to say whats Australian food.. Australia is a multicultural country, and we pretty much eat everything..

But its probably because of the stereotypes that people have of us Australians.. People think we eat kangaroo and crocodile everyday.. so they probably wont eat aussie food because of that.. But geez, not everyone eats that.. Our butchers are full of beef, pork, chicken.. etc..

  8. because they think koalas and kangoroos are too cute to be served at the table.they´d rather them as cute stuffed animals...

  9. Fair question, I suppose/

Now I like and respect Aussies people, possibly the most laid back folk on the planet!

But cooking and restaurants are not very high up on their list of achievments!!

Bill a bong kangeroo soup legs for example would never catch on in the UK.

We have also never been very partial to croc breast with chips.

                                 Hindu restaurant???

What do they dish up then????

                                   Arent they all veggies?

    The mind boggles!

  10. what about Outback ?
