Why there are final set tie breaks at the us open unlike the australian open and wimbledon?

  1. they didnt want to put the athletes or audience through a prolonged match that could last for who knows how long. usually the players have been going at it for hours and they are exhausted and sometimes cramp up so the tie break set is more player-friendly. also, tie breakers are much more exciting to watch.

    EDIT:

    it makes sense to have the final set tie break. why should the last set be any different than the previous ones? then why not have the previous sets won by 2 set points instead of tie breakers? also, why would you have the last set go on indefinitely for two exhausted players who are matched up evenly enough to get to that point?
