Why there is a big difference between China and the West in Practicing medicine?

Chinese medicine focuses on the entire human system, the belief being that an imbalance or disease in one part of the body affects the parts so although emphasis is given to the affected area, the entire body is actually treated. This is why a combination of traditional and modern treatment is used.

In Western medicine, more common to treat affected areas only. There is also heavy reliance on using pharmaceutical treatment disregarding native practices passed on from generation to generation which have proven to be effective.
