Why there is a hole below the pipe which is held below gas stove? Wont gas leak thru that hole?

  1. The gas goes right on past and draws air through the opening to create a proper air/fuel mixture.  LP or natural gas will not burn well if it isn't in the correct proportions with air.  On some stoves the opening is even adjustable to obtain just the right mix.


  2. Probably to keep the pilot light lit, as it needs oxygen

  3. No no ....as gas it at very high pressure it comes out at very high velocity straight out of the nozzle. it creates partial vacuum around nozzle  which sucks fresh air along with it to help it burn...it is standard design for all gas stoves... take care
