  1. because someone decided that

  2. Months are divided by lunar cycles, about 30 days. It takes about 360 for the earth to complete it's "tilt" (that's why we have different seasons). 360 divided by 30 = 12. Walla!

  3. Well I could be wrong,

This is what I remember, it takes the earth one year to go round the sun 365.5 days. (thats is why we have leap year.)

and it takes 1 day for the for earth to spin on it axis. that is why the day and night.

it takes the moon 1 month to go round the earth.

That is what I had learn 10 years ago, I hope it remember it correctly.

    Cheers.

Well the think is fact if you divide the day by 2 day/night it is exactly 12 hours, I think that is the reason it is 12 hours I guess.

    well,

there are 365.24 days in a year because thats how long it tales the earth to orbit the sun.

In those 365.24 days, the moon orbits the earth 12 times, hence the 12 months in the year.

February usually has 28 days in a year, but due to each year being 365.24 days long, there is a 'leap day' every 4 years. BUT there are acception. leap years only occur if the year is evenly dividable by 100 and 400.If it is not divisible by 400, then it will not be a leap year. So, although the year 2100 would be the 4th year, it would not be a leap year. this is because 1 year is 365.24 days long, and not 365 and 1 quarter.

  4. Because i said so.

  5. because theres 12 full moons in a year (most years).

  6. keep guessing!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. The moon goes through twelve complete cycles from new moon to full moon in roughly the same amount of time it takes the earth to orbit the sun once.  And that is 12 moon cycles.  Roughly.  If it were exact we would have 360 days in a year instead of 365.242199
