It is a famous and religious festival of Hindu people.  The Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on the birthday of Lord Ganesh, the god of wisdom and prosperity on the fourth day of the moons bright fortnight. These celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi continue for five, seven, or ten days and at the end of the festival, the statues are submerged in either a river and during the procession taking it to its final location, people chant the Ganapati Bapa Moriya.
