It probably bcuz now no one cares about the senior citizens of the team i.e. Sachin, Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly, etc....

we would have cherished a test series win,but that didn't happen,so aren't we supposed to be happy after we win the ODI series?

Almost 90% of Indians knew we were going to loss the tests.i dont thing any cared to watch those, other than the srilankans.

We never treated test match wins as un-necessary or gave unimportance to it..We Indians,enjoy cricket in any form..

ODIs are better than test matches. Moreover they were able to survive Mendis and many youngsters got a chance to play.

The main reason is that

When anil kumble was asked how would their batsman treat mendis he gave a wry smile giving a meaning that the seniors are experienced and know how to play better than younger ones

But what happened was they succumbed to mendis

Dravid-4

Laxman-5

Tendulkar-1

But when dhoni came he didn't say anything and their young team played murali and mendis well than seniors and proved to the world that kumble bhai was wrong in his decision

And that makes it so simple why ODI win is much important than test series
