Why those band names?

I've always wandered but never really asked. Why are Cobra Starship called Cobra Starship? Why are Fall Out Boy called Fall Out Boy? Why are The Academy is... called The Academy is...?

Because they think they are cool names. Some people though name then after past experiences and their favorite TV programs, like starship cobra might be like snakes on a plane. Or it might be something to do with their star sign. Hope this helped : )

i only one why one of those bands is named their name.

Fall Out Boy was named that because at one of their very first concerts (before they were famous) after they performed they asked the small crowd that they had what their band name should be and a girl yelled out fall out boy.

apparently she got the name from a simpsons episode.

so they thought it was good enough.

and the name just stuck to them.

crazy. i know.

I always wonder the same thing. I guess they have something to do with something that happened to a band member or they just thought it up.

Eg; Jimmy Eat World. <-- The lead singer and his little brother had a fight and then the little brother drew a picture showing the lead singer (jimmy) eating the world with the words "Jimmy Eat World" on it.
