I do not see why people hate home schoolars.

It could not be that we do not get any social time, I have had a gym program,at a local YMCA, in the past for home schoolars with about 50 +-other home schoolars, I have done co-ops with other home schoolars.

It can't be that we can't learn any thing beting home schooled because I am in collage right now finishing up my sinior year at a cammunity collage, so I cant be stuped.

So what is it that people dont like about home schoolars

  1. Well, it's good to know that we (Americans) get top marks in something, lol...too bad that it's in ignorance and prejudice.

I agree that those are the reasons, though...that and just plain closed-mindedness.

  2. Well you can't be that smart because you don't know how to spell or use spell check.  And there is no such thing as senior year at a community college.  They only go up to sophomore year.

  3. If you are a shining example of home-schooling, I am glad that most kids AREN'T home-schooled. Your grammar and spelling are atrocious! You would never have gotten a diploma from a PUBLIC school with skills so poor.

  4. I think there are a variety of reasons such as...

    - politically motivated

    - bad personal situation with relatives

    - plain and simple hate-mongers

    - people just trying to stir up debate and argument

    Probably some other reasons too.

I've noticed that quite often the "trolls" that do this are 1) new to y!a and/or have a new account; 2) have their Q&A blocked.

When I first read your question, I thought it was bait.

  5. Why do people dislike anyone?

People are people, and most often it is not as much the people who home school they dislike; it's the lack of understanding of home schooling in general.

People naturally are stand offish, or dislike, even fear that what is foreign to them

Solution; educate them, push back the frontier of ignorance so to speak.

  6. Are you a troll posing as a homeschooler? A homeschooled senior would know how to use spell check.

  7. This really isn't in reference to your question but another comment that says community colleges don't go up to senior year, which is in fact, untrue.

I have friends who will be graduating from a community college I attended before transferring that will be graduating with their whole degree earned at the community college.

Maybe not all community colleges do, but I assure you, there are those that do complete an education that they start.

  8. i dont know...people are weird. one of my close buddies is homechooled and he's awesome! no different than people that go to school. i dont know why people judge like that

  9. Two words: 'ignorance' and 'prejudice'.

(It isn't a widespread problem though; I've never seen or heard any anti-home education remarks coming from people, in my country, in real life. As an attitude, it does seem to be more or less exclusive to North Americans!)

  10. I don't know why you think anyone would hate you for being home schooled. It's really your own problem.

Right now I'm not too impressed with the home schooling you received. You don't know how to write a complete sentence and you can't spell.

I don't think a lot of home teachers are qualified to teach their children every subject. And I think their parents are just protecting them from the cruel outside world. You'll have to face it some time, you know. And then it will be doubly hard for you.
