Why umpc/handheld computer?

don't get what the big deal is. Why would a want a computer that can fit in my hand if i can just have an ipod a computer at home for much less money.

The only advantage i see is being able to play computer games on the go versus having a ds or psp.

I have a laptop, palm tungsten c (pda) and just got a umpc, samsung q1. Every tech has its own purpose. Depending on your lifestyle, you should determine what you need. For work, i use my laptop. For keeping track of my schedule or finances, i use my pda. And my umpc is just for leisure and gps. If your work, school or lifestyle doesn't benefit from a umpc, then don't get one. This unit is great for surfing the net- portable- and you actually get the real internet experience unlike iphone or smartphones (cant watch flash). umpc are getting cheaper (got mine for $400) and more mobile. I take mine to meetings and use one note. I agree that umpc aren't for everyone. Mostly for professionals on the go.
