Because Russia have nuclear weapons and they are reluctant to risk a war that would be the war to end all wars as a the world wouldnt exist in the way we know it. Plus Russia and America have a lot of history disagreeing, and America pretty much brought them to thier knees in the 80's.

You have to remember that a country that has a lot of natural resources such as Iraq will be a lot more powerful than a country that is low on natural resources.

The size of the land it occupies is irrelevant to the power it wields. More resources, more money, more power. Of course there are other aspects to it but Iraq WAS NOT poor.

Ok firstly there has to be a "reason" for the United states to go to war, that reason doesn't always have to be justified, but there at least has to be a reason as to why a government would take that course of action. Usually this happens when a president can say that the United States and all it stands for was threatened on a great scale, like 9/11. What is going on in Russia and Georgia at the moment has not a whole lot to do with the United States, they have issued warnings, but it would be more foolish for the US to get involved at this point.

I also do not think it is wise referring to the worlds superpower as cowards....at least not while bush is in power...lol

First, it is spelled Iraq. Second, Iraq was though to have Nuclear weapons. It doesn't matter how small a country is, as long as they have a missile and some nuclear warheads, and intend on using them, they're a danger. Y'know the reason we are in Iraq too? To help them. Right now, we are in the process of trying to fix their government, and clean the streets of radical terrorists who want to kill us at the cost of their lives. Russia is a country we don't need to bother invading. They are just having a commie moment and want to give Georgia some payback. That war is ended, already. Russia now cannot be compared to the old times, lets say during Second World War. Because it has acquire a little of stability in terms of weapons and more over it has the largest man power in the world. So for America to start war with it, they really have to be well prepared.
