Question:

Why use fairway woods?

If hybrids/fairway utilities go just as far as fairway woods, and are easier to hit than fairway woods, why use fairway woods?

I am thinking about buying a 1hybrid or 2hybrid. My 3 hybrid goes about 210-220 and I love it.

  1. You're in the same boat as I am.  I hit my 3 hybrid the same distance and I can control it better than a 3-wood.  I stopped carrying a 3-wood, and have considered getting a 1 or 2 hybrid myself.

  2. I like my fairway woods because I'm more of a traditionalist, and I'm only 29.  I'd say give the hybrids a shot, see if you like them.  A lot of fellas I play with really like them.   But from what I've seen the 1 and 2 hybrids don't perform any better than a 4 or 5 wood.  The 3, 4, and 5 hybrids seem much more consistent than irons, especially out of the rough.

  3. On long par 5 I can hit my 3 wood longer than any hybrid. I use both hybrids and fairway woods. If I need to work the ball right or left its easy with a fairway wood. Long straight shots that need to land soft I use hybrids. Yesterday I hit a 5 wood off the tee on a 200 yd par 3 with strong wind in my face and it landed soft on the green. Both have there uses.

  4. You nailed and are on the right track. There used to only be fairway woods and there wasn't a choice of hybrids.

Get the hybrids and ditch the fairway woods or save them for a display case so you can show your grandson "this is what they used to use".

  5. I've always felt more comfortable with fairway woods, as compared to irons, and it's the same with hybrids.  Psychologically I guess, they just seem more like irons and I seem to hit fairway woods much better.

In fact, I just got 3-5-7 Cobra Speed LD woods a few months ago and after playing golf for 30 years I knocked one in from 180 yards with the 7-wood: closest I'll ever get to a hole-in-one probably!

  6. Check out the Adams A3 hybrid fairway 3 wood (they also have a 5).  They are the best of both worlds.  The biggest difference is in the rough.  The A3 goes through better than either a regular hybrid or wood.

  7. you need them at the price of 210-220usd ,you can have a visit to http://www.b2bsharing.biz/golf-fairway-w...
