Why was Avram Grant sent to the stands on Tuesday night?

The Portsmouth boss was sent off at half-time while watching the Pompey - Sunderland match on Tuesday evening. What happened?

Avram Grant lost his temper after messy refereeing that saw Sunderland score a penalty and the ref dithering over who to send off, before Ricardo Rocha was eventually dismissed. Grant gave the referee a piece of his mind only to be dismissed himself - and then in the second half, his team salvaged a point as  Aruna Dindane scored - by that stage, Sunderland had had two of their own players sent off. Grant is presumably a little tense right now, what with Pompey facing the threat of a winding up order.
