What on earth was Beckham doing attending the handing over ceremony for the Olympics when he did not show the slightest interest whilst the games were going on.In fact where has he been for the past year anyway.

Does he and Victoria feel they need some new publicity.I was very surprised to see him there with Gordon Brown,I suppose it looked good having two losers standing together.Am I wrong in thinking he should have not been there?

  1. He is one of the most famous sportsmen in the world and is also British.

He is helping to promote a British sporting event.

He has been back in the Uk playing for England but he earns a living in America and has been playing soccer.

Like him or loath him I think you are foolish to call anyone with his level of success a loser.

  2. Did you not realise that he is a God? It has backfired - the Chinese now think he is boring and did a weak kick. Ha ha ha.

  3. I think he is trying to get put forward for a knighthood or something

  4. He was there to represent London, which is the next location of the Olympic Games.

  5. I believe it is to do with the fact that he is involved with the London 2012 Olympics. I think he is one of the faces of the games

  6. He had a lot to do with London's bid in the first place its not like he is just jumping on the bus now (pardon the pun) like many others are.

  7. i heard he wants to coach the football team at 2012 , i hope we have an english team instead of a british team

  8. Because he can still kick a ball and was able to do it without moving off the spot.

  9. he was there as he is famous and people recogonise him from advertising everything.

he shouldnt be there he is not an athlete or anything to do with the Olympics and also he is a TRAITOR he plays for football teams not in the UK and doesnt even live here.

they should have send one of the old athletes who in the UK set a world record or someone who actually has somthing to do with the olympics and is an athlete not a football players for christ sake

  10. He attended because he was asked. Whats the problem or are you just a sour pus?

  11. Beats me! But something like scrapping the barrel comes to mind for some reason.

  12. Because 'it is written' that he shall be in the limelight for ever more !

He belongs to the same generation of Zidan, Figo etc and those guys have retired long ago.  Why is Beckham still on stage ?!  No wonder English football is at the low that it is when Capello, the manager, the national coach, has to bow and allow Beckham to play important matches.... so Beckham he completes his 100 th  cap.

    Priorities aren't right !!

So I agree with you.... what on earth was Beckham doing in Beijing ?!

  13. really they should have used our top athlete for the handover. wonder who the idiot was that thought of beckham and brown, that just puts u off wanting to watch. but i guess its cos beckham is a massive idol in the far east.

  14. I would prefer David Beckham than Prince William or Harry. Although he is abit of a simpleton, he is a decent member of british society and a hero to many children.

  15. I agree. David Beckham is a thorn in the UK side as is his wife, okay so he can kick a ball around a field, she hasn't got bad dress sense but what else do they do exactly? If you want to show the world what Britain really can do then please use someone with some talent.

  16. Because a tu*d would have been more expensive to hire!?

  17. Why was Becks there? Let me see, could be that he is the most famous and internationally recognised Englishman on the planet.

Love him or loath him, Becks is an English Icon.

And how can the guy be a loser??? Beckham is a multi multi millionaire.

He is also a good role model for English youth, when was the last time he was spotted getting into a fight? Getting drunk? Doing Drugs?

Get a life, and stop being jealous of Beckham!
