Why was Booker T Washington more admired in his own time than he is today?

  1. Because his accomplishments were extraordinary during that time compared to his resources. He was working with actual peanuts, that developed into soy products, before Booker T the idea of using agriculture for more than eating was unheard of. Ethanol came from that thinking. Talk about something from nothing, a sustainable resource.  

    In this modern time his equivalent would have to invent a car that ran on kool-aid or grape drink.


  2. For the same reason Martin Luther King and every other black leader or man of intellect was more admired in their own times.  Because our education system does not teach about them, only whites.

  3. great question deserves my star  I believe that they did not want to give this man his "due" because of the color of his skin  I regret having to say that
