  1. well to start it was actually the third round.  Hewitt's ranking has droped from the top notche to around twenty-five in the world.  This means that he will be seeded to play a top 16 player in the grand slams in the third rounds.  It was just plain bad luck of the draw to get the number five seed in the third round...but that's what happens when you aren't playing as well as expected and you can't get your ranking up high enough.

Many other players both men and women are dealing with the same issue...Amelie Mauresmo, Marat Safin, Mardy Fish, Lindsay Davenport.

  2. It was the third round not first. Hewitt is playing top seeds this early due to his ranking. Players like Safin and Ancic have the same problem. It is not intentional, If Hewitt got himself up the rankings then he wouldn't be playing top 5 players early in Grand Slams-He is there at 25 in the world for a reason-Because he has not been winning consistently.

He should be seeded higher at WImbledon though as he is a past champion and has done well there in the past.

  3. It was the third round. They played yesterday, and ferrer won in 5 sets.

  4. ok, it wasn't even the 1st round it was the 3rd

and they are thinning out the field, hewitt is the 25 seed, so it's probably fair

  5. yeah..these guys are right..Lleyton played hardly anything b4 the French Open..so his rankings were bound to drop...and neway..seeds are to play each other from round 3 onwards...

  6. its the third round.. not first..

  7. I don't know but kiss !!!
