Yeah its weird. I saw a docu about his popularity and it showed that basically some of his rallies were like Beatles gigs! No kidding, lots of you girls screaming at the front. If anyone can get a link to a YouTube clip of this I would be interested to see it again.

Well no one would know this answer here unless there are 70 year old ladies who liked Hitler.   I think you're asking the wrong crowd for such a historical question :P.  I can only assume his power, influence, as well as his strong and intelligent plans for his own world (I have to admit, he was an evil genius who was looking out for what he considered to be right.) Maybe to these women who believed in him...they thought this meant that he was attractive.  But it's only unsourced speculation that I am answering from.  No one knows this answer, especially since I don't think he was very attractive to women at all :P.

I guess because when he first started out (before he started openly killing innocent people) he seemed to have some good ideas. Germany at that time was still trying to recover from WW1, and was extremely poor. They were looking for somebody, anybody, to help them. Hitler seemed capable of doing that and so some women probably started to idolize him, thinking that he was some kind of savior.

I've seen numerous documentaries on the subject and the majority of women found him quite unattractive.  There were of course, the party faithful who worshiped him in a god-like fashion...This was all part of and a side effect of the propaganda machine in that country.
