How does The Flying Dutchman (the ghost ship) have any relation to Germany?

  1. This was due to Honus having the bizarre capability to drift in the open sea, glowing with a ghostly light.  Also, the mere sighting of Honus Wagner was usually a harbinger of some nautical disaster.

  5. Because he was fast, and since "The Flying German" wasn't a common phrase, the people who gave out nicknames at the time went with "The Flying Dutchman" I guess they figured Dutch and Deutsch were close enough...
