From what I understand Gestational Diabetes is not life threatening and usually goes away after pregnancy.

  1. It usually goes away but it may not, especially if you are over 30, which is why they declined you. After the birth and a clean bill of health you should be accepted with no problem.

  2. i think you can contact other insurance companies someone else might approve you

  3. Most life and health insurance companies will not write new policies to pregnant women.  They like to determine their rates based on your current health, weight, etc. and the pregnancy throws all of that off.

After you have the baby and everything is back to normal with your health and weight you shouldn't have any problems getting coverage.  If you find that you are running into issues with this then you may need to find yourself a good independent agent that knows the different underwriting guidelines of each company and how they treat past gestational diabetes.

  4. You're denied life insurance, because you're PREGNANT.  NO ONE will write a new life or health policy on a woman currently pregnant.
