I did track my freshman year. It was the first time I had ever joined a sport. My 400 was 65 and 800 was 2:40. Well sophmore year, I had a really hard time during practices. I would think I should have been better since I actually did track the year before. My time for the 400 was 68 and 800 was 2:56. Why did this happen? I had shin splints both years

  1. You have a bad coach.

You also shouldnt have shin splints that long

  2. Most girls bodies change the sophomore year. it is notorious for producing slower times. Junior year will be better. I promise!

  3. when i was 11, i ran 59 in 400 . this maybe happened because you werent invloved in any sort of training before.

  4. The number of years doesn't mean anything if you don't maintain your physical fitness in between seasons.  My guess is that you didn't do much in the off season and maybe gained a little weight.
