McEnroe probably gets bored in Henman's company so maybe he takes the mickey out of him to make the time go quicker.

I thought the same thing! John was teasing Tim saying that if he were playing he would have taken 5 sets and had to have saved some match points.

That's just tame banter between tennis players. You haven't seen what goes on in the locker room!

Compared to what he used to do to Connors..... :-) there was a time when they wouldn't even share the same hotel or even speak to one another.

Tennis players are an odd bunch, but you don't get to play at Wimbledon unless you can take a few cruel jokes from time to time.

I watched that match and listened to their commentary and I have to say that I heard no such thing, McEnroe was not bullying Henman. All I heard was a lot of playful banter and teasing by both ex-players and if anything Henman was giving as good as he got, so it's unrealistic to call this bullying. Anyway I'm sure that Henman can look after himself and can deal with McEnroe and he seemed to be doing just that.

McEnore is a commentator you will either love or hate as he has an abrasive style but you shouldn't take it as an affront to Henman when he starts making fun of him. McEnroe is the best commentator on the BBC tennis coverage.

I guess Mcenroe just isn't a fan of Henman's quiet, conservative dimena, and his casual approach to his tennis. I personnally love henman, and i find the way he plays tennis refreshing. He doesn't reli on power or a big serve, and he wasn't an aggresive plyer, but he used guile, skill, and masterful touch to try and outfox players.

Mcrenroe has gonee down in my ratings for picking on Tim, and i think it's reli unfair. However Tim isn't reli cut out for the job he's doing, as he's nto got quite a big enough personality, and his comments are often predictible and uninteresting.

I do love henman, and i hope Mcrenoe gives him a break, but i think thatt Mcrenroe is playing with Tim more than anything, just teasing him - it is common for pundits to joke about their careers, and i don't think John's comments shud be taken to heart or acted upon!

He wasn't, he just made a statement of fact. Henman was never going to win Wimbledon if he played until he was 100 - McEnroe is in the fortunate position that he knows what he's talking about, he's been there & done it, so I'm pretty sure I'd respect his opinion over that of anyone else!
