  1. i think he was doing an interview with someone as a reporter, and the inverview hit him with a chair and stossel lost part of his hearing because of this.

  2. he is a reporter for 20/20 , and his disability is hearing loss from when he interviewed wrestling , he asked a wrestler (cant remember witch one i think it was big john studd) if wrestling was fake and the guy slapped him up side the head and damaged his ear drum , it was all on live t.v.

  3. On December 28, 1984, John Stossel was interviewing a wrestler about the fact that perhaps wrestling was not 'real.' At that point, Mr. David Schults, professional wrestler, slapped John Stossel where his ear was located, knocking him into the floor. His 'hearing' was seriously affected, which was definitely not good for a journalist. Mr. Stossel sued the WWE and accepted a settlement of $425,000, for his injury and discomfort.

  4. OMG.  I hope John sued that wrestler.  That's assualt and possibility damaging to John's career because he needs to listen in order to interview people.
