  1. Marla Runyan is legally blind and first ever blind person to compete in the Olympics. Marla was diagnosed with Strargardt's  disease which causes blindness, at the age of 9.

    Marlee Matlin is a deaf actress, she became deaf after she contracted Roseola infantum.

    She is quoted as saying

    "Silence is the last thing the world will ever hear from me."

    "The handicap of deafness is not in the ear; it is in the mind".

    Micheal J Fox is an actor having starred in many movies, T.V series and a producer. He was diagnosed as has having Parkinson's disease in 1991 going public about his condition in 1998. I loved him in family ties.


  2. Louise braille invented braille writing and books which are a series of elevated dot formations on a page a blind person runs there fingers along them for them , eventually it becomes like reading. This resulted in books for the blind that they could read on there own.
