Why was Manny Ramirez so upset in Boston?

Granted, I know he did some goofy things that would upset the franchise, such as wearing his iPod speakers while out in the field. But still, I don't really have a clear idea about how this translated into him absolutely needing to leave Boston. Was it just that Ramirez and the Sox' head office were too stubborn to get along?

  1. He originally wanted to be a Yankee and he's a HUGE Yankee fan, and he wanted to make a big deal about him not being able to be a Yank.
