  1. Who says Adam and Eve weren't allowed to eat meat?  I don't remember that, but i believe the answer about the plants being destroyed is pretty logical.

  2. Was Adam and Eve not allowed to eat meat? I say No. They were allowed, but only clean animals. God also created beast to serve as food for them.

Genesis 1:29 - 30 (NIV) 29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.  30And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

Maybe you will ask me why did I say only clean animals. There is no mention that the meat they are to eat is only from clean beast.

Genesis 7:2 (NIV) 2Take with you seven of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and two of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate,

During the flood, Noah was instructed by God to take two of every kind of both clean and unclean. Now why did Noah not asked God what is the difference between the two? How does he know what animal is clean or not? Who taught him? Remember, this happened before Leviticus 11 where God differentiate the two.

When God said everything (as in every plants), does God really mean to include grass? Of course not. It follows that every beast would not mean to include unclean animals. God did not create all this things to serve as food. He separated what is to be eaten and what is not.

  3. the torah and the bible both say that the earth is just over 6,000 years old. the quran states that mohammad was the 90th decendant of adam.that makes the earth app. 4,500 years old. so i have my doubts about these stories. the epic of the gilgimest. the orginal story of noah was written as a bedtime story for children 4,500 years ago, hundreds of copies exist today. the jews put it in the torah the christians copied it and put it in the bible. then mohammad made him a prophet. surely you can see why i have doubts about this story.

  4. Because just about all the plants had been destroyed in the global Flood.

  5. He allowed Adam and Eve to eat meat after the fall, Noah lived after the fall, so obviously he would eat meat.

  6. That's only an assumption... When Abel; did the lamb sacrifice he ate it... According to the Bible sacrifices (Bar-B-Qs) were meant to be eaten!  Actually Abraham's failed sacrifice of his son Isaac was supposed to have been eaten! Christian refuse to accept the original purpose of sacrifices...! The animals were not burnt to ashes, but eaten!!!

  7. After being nudists, Jesus made them leathers to wear. I would assume they were allowed to eat the leftovers.

  8. There was no death in the garden prior to the fall of man, they ate meat afterward

  9. Vegetarians like the apes then they discovered dead animals to eat and did Noah eat the fish he had on-board.

  10. As far as I know it would be conditional.

In noah's time, the earth got flooded, thus not a lot of plants or trees. Not much to eat, most of your vegetation was grass. so animals who eat grass  get plenty of food, but those who dont eat grass well...  you get the idea.

also in paradise, animals dont get eaten.. That will be the same in heaven also where the bible says that the lamb and the lion will lay down on the fields and eat grass together.

  11. The Talmud says that it was G-d's reward to Noah for taking good care of them (for some reason I find this explanation really funny).

Another story in Jewish tradition, is that before the Flood occurred, the world had become so evil that animals started attacking humans - which is why the entire world had to be destroyed, and not just the people in it.  And because animals had broken their own agreement with G-d from the time of the Garden of Eden (not to harm people), that they were included in the new post-flood covenant as food, as a punishment.
