Is it because the Olympics can't compete with the MLB? It saddens me that such a great game has been eliminated from the Olympics.

  1. baseball is in olympic only because of political reason of America. It's shouldn't have been in olympic at first place. basketball should not be in olympic too. nobody else cares about American traditional sports. Why are american sports in olympic to give medal away to america?

  2. It takes too long to compete, fan base of the game is small (empty seats!!!!), and is dominated by very limited few countries (pretty much not many games worth watching besides US and Japan), consider these facts its not a "world game" as which is required to be in olympics.

  3. What a crock of Euro-centric c**p.  Baseball is popular in the Americas...note I did not say the United States...and in Japan and Korea.  China has begun to put respectable teams together as well.  That accounts for most of the World's population.  Europe felt left out because there are fewer and fewer sports in which they are competitive and baseball has been eliminated.  This was a sport in which Latin America was well represented and had respectable chances of earning medals and Europe stole that opportunity.

  4. Baseball was not included in the London 2012 Games because the IOC voted to remove it from the Olympics

  5. Well baseball and softball were removed because the americans kept winning
