Well, the Packers had already picked their new quarterback because Brett said he was retiring. He could have played with the packers but he would have to be a back up and he didn't want to do that so they had worked out a deal that would allow him to be the starting quarterback for the Jets that are in another division..

My guess is that the Jets were the only team that would give the Packers enough to make the deal worthwhile.  The Packers didn't want him with the Vikings, and I guess Tampa Bay didn't offer enough.  I think Favre will regret this.

He wated to return to the NFL and Green Bay didn't want to go to anyone in their division (Chicago and the Vikings)

Because that is what he wanted....or at least what he THINKS he wants...he's really not sure....he'll change his mind in a few months just wait and see
