Why was every one obsessing over Sudam Hussein when it's Osama Bin Laden who's the real problem. I mean didn't he plan the whole 9/11 attack?

  1. Was 9/11 an inside job?

It is a fact that none of the four hijacked planes were intercepted by fighter planes. That this did not happen, combined with the fact that the majority of the air force was engaged in military exercises, has given weight to suspicion that the American air defence force gave the order to "stand down" so that the terrorist attacks could proceed unhindered. Another suspicious circumstance is that WTC 7 – also known as Building 7 – a 47-storey skyscraper, collapsed without having been hit by any of the planes. Conversely, the buildings that stood adjacent are still intact.

  2. Yeah, hence why it was confusing to at least a third of the country when we invaded Iraq. I think we need to see Iraq for what it was: a poorly planned invasion, with the intent of nation building, and getting a small amount of revenge for King George I.

    Welcome to our generation's Vietnam.

  3. Sadam was responsible for mass genocide of his own people. Killed over 80,000 kurdish people living in northern Iraq back in the late 80's. Had given public speeches stating once he did have the power to attack the U.S. with WMD's it would be his first priority. Stated this on numerous occasions. Also, Iraq is known for harboring terrorist... most of combat ops are targeted against al'qaida, the same group responsible for the attacks from 9/11. Plus if you look at it from a military stand point, Iraq is dead center of the middle east, between many countries that are known for the same things. Strategy wise, it is easier to deploy to a country if you are in the same region rather than trying to deploy from half a world away.

  4. Not everyone.  George Bush team seemed to have obsessed over Saddam.

Remember they let Bin Laden family leave the US days after 9/11.  It was like giving the logistical arm of Bin Laden a go free ticket after their support work was done.  As for Saddam this had nothing to do with 9/11 his destruction was a continuing Bush Sr/Jr.  war game.

  5. That's what I say.

Saddam Hussein made several outrageous statements. . .quite frankly, he was a lesser threat at the time, than Osama Bin Laden.

It should have gone 1. Osama

                                 2.  Saddam Hussein

Somebody is going to have to break it down for me how Saddam became a bigger threat than Osama.

  6. Bin Laden was chased into a hole in the ground. He is no longer a major player, and if we can overcome the political barrier, we will get him. The deal in Iraq was a different thing that had to be addressed. Hussein was violating a peace treaty, or agreement and had to be taken down. Many put to two fronts together, but it is not the same war.We helped create a new free society and that is a good thing. The other is like chasing a criminal, eventually, he will be brought to justice.

  7. Easier Target, the kill ratio is bigger, easy to find, then we can hand over his country (Iraq) to the Mullahs like Iran and Afghanstan before him !

  8.   The obsessing has to do with Iraq not being a justifiable target to begin with.  We all know that Saddam was a henious murderer, even to his own countrymen.  We know that he defied the fourteen UN mandates that he himself agreed to.  We know that he shot at or threatened and even attempted to attack British and US warplanes in the no fly zone.  We know that he had WMD evidenced by the recent discovery of yellow cake that was buried in Iraq.

We also knew that Saddam was the enemy of our enemy, and that made him our friend.   In today's world, we honor, protect, and aide the enemy of our enemy, why then did we see Saddam as such a threat. Even if the intelligence wasn't faulty, we knew that Saddam was a loner and had very few close relationships even in the Arab world, so why would we assume that he was aiding and assisting al Qaeda?

These are some of the questions as to the why !  The question that will forever linger in my mind is; did GWB push this thing to retaliate for the attempted assassination of his father by Saddam?  If it was in retaliation than the whole Iraq issue lies with GWB and is unforgivable!

Bin Laden is indeed the lone culprit in this matter, and it is the hope of many that his head is delivered on a platter, very soon !
