he's one of my co-workers ,in a senior managment position,I have spoken to him on a few occasions,he always gives me eye contact, smiles at me,has given me sidelong glances, has done me a favour or twoI needed help with one of my personal stuff he helped me.....one day he was standing in the kitchen waiting for his lunch to be warmed up,I entered and we had eye contact but his pupils were dilated and he kept looking at me /into my eyes with a serious expression...I thought he was in a bad mood....I was really uncomfortable I didnt move and uttered a timid excuse me ...hearing that he bowed his head with a smile and went to the other direction of the room..it was an awkard situation though.... how would you analyze the situation. After that awkward incident .whenever I see him he greets me in a very friendly way though, but at that time I thought he was trying to portray a domineering existence or was trying to intimidate me,he has mentioned about his money making powerstatus when around

  1. He probably had something that was bothering him on his mind, and you just happened to walk in while he was in deep thought. My kids say I do it all the time when I'm thinking about something that is really bothering me. I'm totally unaware while doing it, and the anger and frustration on my face is never intended to be directed towards my kids. The powerstatus thingy, in my opinion is intended as a joke, because if he were trying to be domineering, he wouldn't waste his time helping you sort out your personal matters, he would probably try to kick you while you were down. Your boss sounds like a decent person. ;-)

  2. Staring blankly into space maybe??? Perhaps he was on drugs? You did say his pupil were dilated.... By the way, I totally stare off into space a lot when I'm bored (and no I'm not on drugs). Hope this helps!!!!

  3. Seems to me like he was booooooored while waiting for the microwave to do its thing. I know that's what I do when I'm waiting for anything to happen at work, I stare into the distance, and if a person should happen to be in that "distance" or walk into that "distance," lol, that person is about to be stared down, of course not purposely... Men are more guilty of staring into space than women I find. They keep their thoughts to themselves more often and then the gears start winding... At any rate, I would just forget about it. I mean if it was a recurring thing that would be creepy or possibly romantic depending on your view of him. ;-D

  4. the light was on, but no one was home.
