    revolution is related to this type of art because of the historical events in france, etc


  2. Impressionism broke with the traditional 'salon' style of painting by apttempting to capture a moment in time as experienced by the viewer. The way the light hit the water, the shadows at that time of day, could/would never be repeated. The 'salon'style was more pictoral of frozen moments in time. In impressionist paintings, movement is essential, bringing life to previously static subjects.
