Okay there was this huge mosquito, that was like a 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches big and i was wondering what is the scientific identification for this species. bigger than the black and white legged mosiquitos and the brown ones.and no don't say it doesn't bite because it was on the side of my granddad's head, getting its just desert. I would have loved to given a picture, but this dine-n-dash is illegal and it was to pay full price.

  1. You don't say where you live, but if you live in California, the huge things that look like giant mosquitos aren't mosquitos at all.  In fact, they are called mosquito hawks and they actually eat mosquitos.  I've actually watched one eat a mosquito, and it was quite methodical about it, starting at the head and working back.
