  1. it was his last year of his contract...you have to pay big money to keep him...u might as well get someone now that u can .....the sox need all the help they can get if they want to compete in the AL ......the reds are just re-building ....they have great pitching tho

  2. Well the sox are in contention and he may help them. plus our gm is a big fan of jr and always wanted him on the team.

Im very happy with what hes done in his debut though!!! he went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI singles and the only time he got out was SOOOOOO CLOSE to a homer

  3. The White Sox hope  he won't be disabled until the end of the season, Again.

  4. Well, he was great back when he was with the Marriners. But let' face it, he's not a s good as he used to be. The Reds traded him to a team that's in contention becuase he deserves an oppurtunity at the Playoffs. And becuase he's got an expensive contract that's up at the end of the year. The Reds are planning for the future which is smart and they also honored Griffey by making that trade.  I'm a long time Reds fan and I will miss Griffey but trust me this was better for both Griffey and the Reds.

  5. It's a good question. Griffey doesn't fit any particular (or at least, obvious) need for the White Sox, nor is he an upgrade anywhere.

Moving to south Chicago does give him a decent chance at playing in October, which is nice for him at least.

  6. because there gm wanted him badly

  7. They want some more power down the stretch.
