Why was marie antoinette's baby, sofia, painted out of the picture when she died?

i understand she died.... but why paint her out of the picture... was that common practice back then... and if so, why?

Her name was Sophie-Beatrice and they did that so they could have a portrait of the baby so they can remeber her. And yes it was common practice.
