Why was my girlfriend angry in this situation? Is it my shoe size or what?

I need to set the scene here first. Was at a dinner party last week with my gf and 2 other couples. After dinner we were all in the living room chatting. The girls must have talking shoes coz one of the girls said something like “so you’ve got smaller feet than your gf? omg” with an annoying smile on her face. Everyone then waded in and it came out that I am a size 5 or 6 UK (6.5 US mens), and my gf is an 8UK (9.5 US womens). Anyway, everyone egged us on to compare so we put our feet flat on each others whilst sitting on the floor – my gf was getting a bit annoyed at this point but I just said to do it and get it over with. The difference was really big and everyone found this really funny… The other two girls did the same & both there feet were bigger than me as well which was really embarrassing for me (coz both of them are shorter than me), but my gf shot me some filthy looks and seemed angry the rest on the night and she won’t explain. I thought it was because she appeared to have big feet but the night seemed to be focused on my feet and how small mine are. The night was basically all about taking the mickey out of me.

Why was she so annoyed?

And as a sub question, are my feet really that small coz one of the girls is like 5’3’’ and her feet were clearer bigger which bothered me – I’m 5’8’’. Think she is a 7UK (8.5US womens) so I assume this is pretty big for a girl coz i can't see many women having feet bigger than me.

maybe she was annoyed that the topic of conversation

went passed how much she wanted it to.

she probably just wanted it to be talked about.

not have you all actually get up and compare show sizes.

and it's totally a myth but some women use the size of a man's shoes to determine the length of his p***s.

and imagine how embarassing it is if all her friend's boyfriends have huge feet (meaning they have a large p***s) and her boyfriend has small feet.

now im not saying you actually have small private parts.

but maybe she was annoyed because she was embarassed that her friends found it funny that you have small feet.

Maybe her friends were using the 'feet' game to flirt with you, and you played along. Women can sometimes spot these subtle signs much quicker than men. Best thing is to ask her.

Well i live in the UK n have size 7 feet. I think the most common size is like a 4 or 5 (UK) but meh it doesnt bother me to be honest. I think having smaller feet than you gf shouldn't be embarrassing cos we are all different. At the end of the day it's more important that you like someone because of who they are rather than what they look like really.

Maybe she's annoyed because she thinks that the other girls think she weird because of her feet size, and you're the one who raised the point, even though you didn't, or that she thinks you're flirting with the other girls. You haven't done anything wrong though.

i don't know why she'd be annoyed if it was only about your feet, maybe she was annoyed about something else?  if it was just your feet, well, maybe you need to find a new girlfriend who isn't so petty....

She also doesn't like having big feet. In many cultures girls prefer small feet.

Your gf was annoyed because she was embarassed about her big feet and expected you to say 'no I don't want to compare'... if thats not the reason, then it must be something completely unrelated to the situation.

Of course I'm not saying it's right for her to be annoyed, you were the one being ridiculed. Just ask her why she was angry and if it is the reason I said, explain to her (nicely) that you were just as embarrased as she was, maybe even more.

Also, yeah your feet are pretty small, like the same size as mine, so thats small for a guy, but I wouldn't worry, no-one notices shoe size

The implication, or joke, is that a man with small feet has a small p***s. She was either annoyed because they were making fun of you , or because they were making fun of you and by inference her, or because they were making fun of you and you didn't get it.  Or she's just grumpy sometimes because you have a small p***s.

With your next gf, if she frowns or doesnt want to do something.  You take her and go.  Don't embarass her in front of people.  An American girl would have embarassed you in retaliation by saying you are small all over.

what you were saying to her was being a part of a group is more important than your feelings.  you should have been more considerate of her feelings and been protective of her, and told your friends to not be idiots and showing feet is for children.  that would have shown your gf  you cared about her feelings.

There is a saying that if you have big feet and hands you will have a big willy, so your girlfriend is embarrassed that now people will think your willy is small.    If your girlfriend is getting annoyed at you at a party, then subdue your behaviour, don't go on doing what is already annoying her.   This can't be the first time you have been teased about your foot size, so you must have known how the evening would pan out, or are you craving attention so much that you will endure teasing just to be selfcentred.   Your girlfriend is now worried this story will get all over town.   Are your feet in proportion to your body?   If not, then there will be jokes that your Ma married her first cousin.   Your girlfriend may now dump you.   Good luck.
