Why was my hamster just fine yester day and not acting funny but today he is dead?

Yester day my hamster was alive and was acting just fine but the next day I went to feed him and usally he would wake up to the noise of his cage opening but, he didn't come and I poked him and he felt like he was frozen. So I picked up a pen and poked him with it but he didn't move.So I cried and prayed to god. Then I told my mom. And I still cried.He was my 5th hamster.

i am so sorry to hear that. That happened to me i was playing with it one day everything was normal and he was dead the next day. They have a short lifespan. If it was not sick it may have had a heart attack. But ftrom whats in your question it seems like you really loved hime and he had a great life. R.I.P hamster

Normaly hamsters live anywhere from 2 years to 4 years. My two hamsters died at 3 years of age. And if you want to get a new hamster wait for a couple of weeks to get over the one that just died.

That's what happened to my girl hamster.Now I have a boy because it bled on it's wee wee and on the next day was still but breathing like a coma and when he was dead I thought it was a com but he wasn't breathing.Check your hamster's wee wee.

Hamsters are very hardy animals and hardly show symptoms of any sickness until they are very ill. Probably your hamster was old and died of old age. Hamsters normally live for only 1-2 years and most hamsters die suddenly like yours with no symptoms of any sickness at all often leaving their pet owners wondering what happened. It is very difficult to point to a particular cause of your hamster's death.

Maybe it was the kind of food you fed him. Alot of animals that are sick, are hard to notice, because they don't show it. Same thing happend with my bird. Yesterday it was fine and the next morning it was lying on the bottom of the cage. Best thing to do is take the pet to a vet for a check up.
