Why was the 2008 Olympics was held in Beijing China?

The IOC (International Olympic Commitee) decided to hold the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, because the Olympics had never been held there before. In addition, Beijing is a great cultural center, with a combination of modern technology and historical sights.

A city individually bids for the right to hold the Olympic Games.  The bids involve presentations, agreements to build appropriate venues and lots and lots of money.

The IOC then decides who has won the bid, and has a huge announcement ceremony.  

There have been suggestions of bribery and corruption in the past, particularly in relation to the Salt Lake City winning bid for the winter olympics some years ago.

because it has the equipment, resources and it a developed country, which therefore means it is qualified to hold the 2008 Olympics....

China never had it (not in a many decades if ever)  and it was their turn, and they were determined to get it during year 8 of this millenium, a very special and lucky number for them

China won the bid that why. I think it is because they had checked that the county - Beijing is suitable for the Olympics. Either the sport facilities and also the weather and more.

The International Olympic Committee decides where they are to be held.  Any city can put in a bid to  the IOC, which is non-political.
