Why was the 90's considered boring compared to the 80's or 70's.?

Even though the end of the 90's was only 8 years ago, i can't help thinking that it was a really boring decade, yes I'm sure for some people it was great like little kids growing up then, but seriously when you compare it to the 70's or 80's, it really doesn't compare---the fashion, music,tv, society, and culture that was alive in those decades, seemed to have a bit of a rest in the 90's, and as for the 00's, lets not even go there.

The 90's was off the chain but yet it was dupilcating alot of the early styles...I still got my cross colour red jacket in the closet still,the tv shows got more intense & more drama.The movies got better as well too which put the 90's on top of the block busters you remember the Titanic?

Yeah, I totally understand where you're coming from. The 70s and 80s,especially the 70s,was a time of great rock n roll.you had david bowie,blondie,and so on...so yeah...90s were somewhat boring..in my opinion..I'd like to think of the 90s as a dark grungy type period...well the early 90s had pretty good music...you know..smells like teen spirit had just came out..that was like a new evolution to rock & roll. And then in 1995 silverchair came out that was pretty good music too..try listening to Abuse Me by them..great 90s hit. Good movies came out back then too, you know you had the Titanic,romeo & juliet,ha clueless.when you think about it the 90s weren't all that bad..it was once it got to the late 90s ..it just got boring and retarded...and right now...ugh. I gotta admit I dislike this era,everythings all over the place.different fashion/style/emoeffed up songs..its not all one thing ne more..70s was all peace and love and u can get high and people wouldn't give a eff..and 80s you had glitz and glam and heavy make-up and boppy catchy tunes . and now...well..now I don't know what this era's style is. I wish I were born in like 1962 or something so I could live throughout the 70s and 80s and just be wild n crazy..idk I feel like I missed out on a lot during those 2 decades.wish we can turn back time! Oh.and your hearing all this from a 17 year old girl who was born in 1991..I swear I was born in the wrong era,ha.I mean I still like the 90s though,I mean c'mon...saved by the bell,martin,and fresh prince of bel-air..hello!

yes the 90's were boring. i see movies and read books that take place in the 70's and 80's. everything seems so exciting. i would've loved the 70's. it seems like it was really fun. i like 80's fashion though.

You never grew up in the 70's or 80's so how can you say the 90's was boring. I personally think the 90's was a way better decade than the 80's. I think the music, the fashion, the hairstyles, TV shows were way better than the 80's.

I lived through the 70s and 80s and they weren't anymore exciting then any other time. The 00's have been pretty exciting for me.

Don't believe all the hype you see or hear about any decade. I know people who were teens in the 60s and they say they "missed the 60s" because they were just ordinary people living their lives.

it's a crescendo, like a wave that climaxes.

the 50's were boring (poodle skirts, malt shops),

the 60's were better (elvis, rock and roll),

the 70's got wild (hippie-mania, disco),

the 80's were cool (crazy dancing, movie scene burst),

the 90's simmered down (grunge rock)

and the 00's are boring (Britney Spears to Jonas Brothers).

I hope things start to pick up in the 10's and 20's. I don't want to be too old later on for the fun part!

well you see, probabl next decade when fashion and culture has changed enough, the 90s will seem vibrant. its just a matter of how much time has passed.
