Why was the American Embassy in Manila attacked today?

Caught a little of it on the news, but no details here in Cebu yet.

was out of town for the past two days and have not seen the news yet.  what i heard thru grapevine was that the bus terminal in digos was bombed and sustained 4 casualties.  no one should inflict harm on innocent civilians in the guise of fighting for certain beliefs.

it wasn't attacked. there was just a bunch of angry student protesters who clashed with the police infront of the American Embassy. rallies are common there, but it's rare that it escalates to a near riot where people actually get hurt.

I don't think the American embassy can be attacked so easily. Though walking by it it looks like it has simple security don't be fooled. If you jump that high fence I think you would probably be walking on no mands land with landmines and motion sensors and thats if your lucky not to get a bullet through your head from the snipers in the guard towers. They spend 70+billion on their defence you think they wouldn't put some of that into their embassy security? If there was an attack though it would probably most likely be a car bomb and take out innocent civilians and would be pointless.
