  1. To psychologically affect Americans tourists and American athletes during the Beijing Games. The scene of the crime is a very well known landmark and tourist attraction in Beijing. The crime happened during the day in a place that was crowded with tourists and families with children. The killer's victims were close friends of players and training staff of the USA men's volleyball and women's volleyball teams.

  2. beijing is never really safe. it's a gigantic place! how can you expect it to be safe! but here in singapore, it is stated that the motives of the murderer are still unknown. some people are even saying that there is more than what meets the eye. i shall not say anything else should people disagree and start slandering me, but if you look at the situation from another angle, i think it's really suspicious.

why would the murderer commit suicide after killing the american if he really WANTED to kill him? i'll let the rest of you mull about this.

  3. He was killed because  the murderer targeted Americans and even though there is an incredible amount of security they can't stop someone from attacking a few people with a knife.

Miscella isn't painting the whole story! Americans are getting treated LIKE ROYALTY in China! Just because one person murders it doesn't take away from stories already of how basic China citizens are in Awe of and asking American's to shake their hands and buy them coffee.

This America's hated thing is bullsheet and some do,but no more than any other big country.

  4. there's a lot of people and a lot of problems. And people hate americams

  5. Why have Canadians been killed in the US? Or in Mexico? Japan? Why were Australian tourists killed in Israel? Its hardly an isolated event and hardly a problem just in China. but I am sure the American news is getting as much out of this as they possibly can to try and make China look bad.

When a tourist is killed in the US it isnt even on the American news.

Compare crime rate statistics on ANY American or other Western city or country and you will see how safe the cities in China are.  People have to use common sense where ever they go in the world and it helps to not be rude to the citizens when you get there.

  6. It's like every other place, security cannot be everywhere. The bigger and more populated the place is, the harder it is to protect people.

  10. if you want a safe place in asia, go to singapore. it is so safe :) i love it.

  11. It is a random killing. The guy was from another city of China and had no job in Beijing. Based on the news, he had two failed marriages before and a son in jail. He had big hope on his son, gave all the money he could make to his son, but the son just end up at the jail. So he hated the world.

It is just not safe all over the world, any thing can happen. Do you know how many people been killed here in US every night?
