Question:

Why was the Childresn Health Care Program vetod?

No one can deny a health program for deserving and needing children is important for American kids. Although we have heard a lot about the Childs Health Insurance bill we are only hearing about parts of it. The expanded bill provide the benefits for a greater number of kids. However, that greater number of kids includes illegal aliens. Why should our tax payers money be used to provide health care for illegal aliens? The bill would have enticed greater numbers to illegally cross the border and use what funding was made available. I am sure if the bill had not included the illegal’s it would have become law. Clinton mixes her comments referring to "all" kids in one sentence then "Americas kids" in the next. She will complain about the bill being vetoed but she will not tell you the great number of illegal’s the bill would have taken care of (most likely more illegal’s than legal’s) or that passing it would have enticed a greater number of illegal crossings.

  1. Bush needs 47 billion more for the upcoming war with Iran.

  2. our president has his priorities screwed up big time.  very disturbing, isn't it?

he's s******g our kids and our seniors.  very sore subject with me.

  3. Actually that bill specifically said that illegal aliens weren't covered and proof of American citizenship was required. It is a lie perpetuated by ideologues that the expanded law would cover illegal aliens.

  4. politicans didnt have enough pork in it for them and they all are so out of touch with the 35,000 a yr worker that they just dont get it

  5. The bill was a political ploy.  Dems wasted time working on a bill they knew wouldn't pass, taxpayers paid them to do nothing again.

  6. yo dude,it is not the govs job to insure anyone! where do you think the $$ comes from? your pocket and mine.whatever happened to personal responsibility?want kids-you support and pay for them,I sure as h**l do not want to participate!

  7. Illegals are here whether you like it or not. They're not going away any time soon, so stop making the illegals the brunt of blame for everything.

Most states have enough funding to keep the CHC Program going into next year, and those that don't have supporters that will make sure the program continues for those kids who are on the program.

  8. So, this isn't really a question is it?

  9. Because Children who's mommy and daddy make 84,000 a year do not need me to pay for their health insurance, and the last time I looked, 25 years old was far from being a child.

  10. Since Bush has made it obvious he doesn't want to stop illegal immigration, I doubt this had anything to do with the veto.  What made him veto it was the exponential increase in the number of children involved, including extending childhood to 25 years of age!, and raising the income limit to over $80,000/year, and paying for it not on the backs of all taxpayers but on the backs of smokers (yet again!), which is a continually shrinking number of Americans, leaving the bill basically unfunded.  Besides, he never liked the CHIPs program from the beginning.  The flaws in this one just made it easier for him to veto.

  11. majority of people not insured are college students from 18-25 and Bush feels they don't deserve it.

  12. The bill gave tax money to family of 4 (2 children) making $106,000 in CA & in NC my home $84,000. Our average income in NC is $48,000. We can not pay for almost double the average income's children. It becomes free insurance & we  have no way to pay for all insurance without huge tax raise. Tax money is my money & your money not free money that is limitless. Children are covered by Medicare if their parents are truly unable to pay.

This bill is just a way to go around Congress refusal of a national health bill.

  13. The program would benefit low income illegal aliens more than the low class working poor American citizens.  The program was vetoed do to costs.
