Why was the Democratic convention held before the Republican Convention?

Was Obama too full of himself that he thought McCain could not top his convention? I mean it seems to be working because we haven't heard much about Obama's choice of vice-president compared to McCain's choice.

I think McCain has just won the election

  3. The DNC is always before the RNC, every election.  There is a lot of time left before the election we will hear a lot from Joe before it's over.  As for Palin, she is going to show herself as she really is.

    They can't both happen at the same time. One has to go first. DNC went first, Obama had no choice in that. Biden got more than normal coverage, you probably just watch Fox.

    The only reason Palin got any coverage was because she is a terrible choice.

    The reason people are so interested in Palin is because they have never heard of her before...ie she hasn't done anything of importance for people to know her. Biden is an intelligent man who is head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He is a smart choice and people aren't surprised. People are surprised that McCain picked a podunk governor for his running mate....

  12. Because the dates chosen for the DNC were earlier than the dates chosen for the RNC.  Time is still a linear concept in our world.
